Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 23 - Eight Nigerian men and a
Cambodian woman were tried by Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Tuesday over
allegations that they have possessed about one kilograms of meths
committed in Phnom Penh, in January 2015.
Mr. Khy Chhay, Judge of Phnom Penh Municipal Court, said that eight
Nigerians is: Izuchukwu Chuwuma, male, 40; Nnamezie Victor, male, 30;
Simon Maduka Ukadu, male, 45; Sunday Nwabuisi, male, 31; Okarom Kizito
Chimddu, male, 35; Francis Nnamdi, male, 30; Tony Mmaduka Chuwuonye,
male, 34; Okorom Nhabuife Favor, male, 36; And Morn Vinyung, female, 31,
Cambodian.
He added that they were charged by municipal
court’s prosecutor with under article 40 of Cambodian law on drug
control. They were arrested by Ministry of Interior’s Anti Drug
Department in Phnom Penh, on January 8-9, 2015. After their arrests,
police seized about one kilogram of meths as well as other related
materials from them.
Their trials will continue in March 2016.
